Strange But True, Colorado is Weird Tales of the Wild West (pdf, 110KB)
Strange Colorado Project Seeks Higher Passion for History (pdf, 110KB)

Media Praise for Strange But True...

Patti Thorn, Books Editor, The Rocky Mountain News (Jan. 6, 2006)-

“…Did you know that J.P. Morgan funded a plan in 1899 to communicate with extraterrestrials by beaming radio signals into space from Colorado Springs?...this book is a quick, amusing trek through time that encompasses bats, a frozen dead guy, gunfights, national figures like Billy the Kid—oh, and crazy bankers with a yen to talk to aliens. Who could resist?”

Tom Walker, Book Editor, Sunday Denver Post (Jan. 15, 2006) from "Colorado Reads - Books Worth Reading" Section-

"They don't get much odder than Strange But True, Colorado: Weird Tales of the Wild West...The book gathers together 'quirky facts and wacky trivia' about Colorado."

Clay Evans, Book Editor, Boulder Daily Camera (Dec. 11, 2005)-

Strange But True, Colorado is — and I say this with the utmost respect — a perfect bathroom book. It contains short items — most a page long, with 44 nuggets of no more than a paragraph — about some of the state's oddments.  Fun and fascinating, I like this book a lot.”

Deb Acord, Colorado Springs Gazette (Nov. 26, 2006)-

"A Fort Collins man mined for quirky Colorado history...then wrote this book with an intriguing title he thought would attract the less-enthusiastic reader. He was right. Strange But True, Colorado has drawn rave reviews."

Kelli Lackett, Fort Collins Coloradoan (Dec. 6, 2005)-

“Hafnor tackles interesting tales about the state…and attempts to separate fact from fiction.”

From Front Page of The Coloradoan (Dec. 6, 2005)-

“This local author writes fascinating morsels of Colorado history.”

Amber Taufen, Westword Magazine ( Dec. 8, 2005)-

“Hafnor’s written two bizarre books about historical events; his most recent, Strange But True, Colorado , is all about the Rocky Mountain State . How could you not read a book documenting J. P. Morgan’s 1899 attempt to communicate with extraterrestrials via a giant coil of wire in Colorado Springs ?”

Mona Neeley, Editor, Colorado Country Life Magazine’s 2005 "Best of the West...Books Worth Reading " Section-

“Heard them all before? This book actually has Colorado historical tales that will be news to you.”

Ginny Cross, Community Manager/Book Buyer, Barnes & Noble ( Fort Collins )-

“For this Barnes & Noble store, I do not recall a bigger three-day rush for a regional book. We can’t keep it on the shelves.”  [December 6-8, 2005]
